Frequently Asked Questions

Float rentals are priced per vessel. Shuttle rates are priced per person.

Every rental includes transportation to the launch point, paddles, life jackets, and a trash bag, plus a full day pass for our campground and parking. You'll float your chosen route and finish right back at Finley & James River Co.—no vehicle shuttling or extra pickups required.

All reservations are non-refundable. We do not return money to your original payment method.

Reservation changes and cancellations must be requested at least 48 hours before your scheduled trip. This policy applies regardless of weather conditions. Reservations made within 48 hours of the trip are still subject to the same cancellation policy.

Eligible cancellations receive a gift card voucher for the amount paid, which can be used at Finley & James River Co. on a later date—not a cash refund. No-shows are charged the full amount of the reservation and are not eligible for a voucher.

Float trips operate rain or shine, and rain does not automatically cancel your reservation. Guests are responsible for monitoring weather conditions before their trip.

If you need to cancel, rebook, or make changes to your reservation, you must do so at least 48 hours before your scheduled launch time. Reservations made within 48 hours of the trip are still subject to the same cancellation policy.

All reservations are non-refundable. We do not return money to your original payment method. When a cancellation qualifies under our policy—or if Finley & James River Co. cancels your trip because river or weather conditions are unsafe—you will receive a gift card voucher for the amount paid to use on a future visit, not a cash refund.

Trip times vary based on river conditions, water levels, boat type, and how often you stop along the way.

If you're bringing coolers, personal boats, fishing gear, or other equipment, we recommend using our designated unloading zone before parking. This allows you to unload your belongings close to the check-in area so you won't have to carry everything across the parking lot.

Once you've unloaded, simply move your vehicle to the guest parking area and head to the office to check in for your trip.

We recommend wearing a swimsuit or other comfortable clothing that can get wet, along with water shoes or secure sandals suitable for river conditions. Bringing plenty of drinking water is also a good idea, especially on hot summer days.
